Position Summary:
The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Assistant Bakery Manager works alongside the Owners and team members to create the highest-quality cakes, a warm, welcoming environment, and a superior guest experience. The Assistant Bakery Manager shares in team leadership and collaborates with the Owners in driving sales and profitability, executing day-to-day responsibilities and ensuring that all aspects of the bakery operation comply with NbC standards.
Accountabilities/Duties:
- Prioritizes the guest experience, models superior guest engagement, and fosters a positive work environment.
- Partners with the owner in leading all aspects of the guest experience, cake production, brand and merchandise presentation, work environment, and inventory control.
- Supports the owners in training team members, directing daily work responsibilities, and providing performance feedback and coaching.
- Makes deliveries as needed, ensures 3PD orders are processed and troubleshoots when needed. Utilize ItsACheckmate for out of stock and operation adjustments.
- Ensures NbC product, service, bakery environment and visual merchandising standards are consistently upheld and that all bakery operations adhere to food and health safety standards and NbC policies and procedures.
- Assists the Owner in executing operational and administrative responsibilities, which may include setting frosting pars, completing SHIPP and SYSCO orders, team scheduling, supply ordering, and baking plans.
- Co-manage BOSS system for out of stock and special fulfillment.
- Co-manages special-order fulfillment for fundraisers, as well as large, complex orders and deliveries.
- Co-facilitates the opening and closing of the bakery, including cash-drawer balancing and bank deposits and supports Key Holders
- Assists in the planning and execution of events including opening, closing and/or staffing when needed.
- Fill role of Baker/Froster/Guest Service Representative when scheduled or as needed.
- Maintains hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in regularly to perform various responsibilities as business needs dictate.
- Fill role of Bakery Manager during periods when owners are out of town.
- Provides key support leading up to Holiday periods.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education, Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus.
· 1-3 years of guest-facing experience in a retail, restaurant or foodservice environment, preferably in a lead role with progressive managerial responsibilities.
· Demonstrated success creating a superior guest experience and coaching others to do the same, training new team members, directing the work of others, and achieving productivity goals.
Work Availability:
Regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week with ability to flex up as business dictates for holidays. Close bakery minimum of two evenings per week.
Compensation and Benefits: $40,000 Base Salary, health plan, up to 40 hours of paid sick time, two weeks paid vacation, discounts for cake and merchandise, and eligible for both performance and holiday bonuses.
