Working in a Back of House position at Nothing Bundt Cakes means being cross trained in the heart of operations. From making large batches of cakes following our standard process for quality, frosting cakes for pre-paid and walk in orders and ticket management, to general cleaning and maintenance, the back of house employee is responsible for carrying out the responsibilities that are at the foundation of day to day operations. The candidates hired for this position will have the flexibility to be scheduled both in the baking and frosting departments.
The ideal candidate will have prior frosting, baking, or general kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service setting (although not required - willing to train dependable candidates), enjoys multitasking, has attention to detail, results driven, and is able to work at a fast pace. Physical requirements of the position involve the ability to lift 50 pounds (sometimes overhead), bend stand and walk for up to 8 hours. Must have the ability to work short periods of time in a commercial freezer. We are looking for dependable team members that thrive in team environments and show up daily for their fellow team members in order to accomplish shared goals. Must be 18+ to apply.
Job responsibilities include:
Gathering ingredients, utensils and pans
Mixing, scooping, and packaging large batches of cakes
Ticket rail management
Commercial oven management
Washing pans, utensils & containers using a commercial dishwasher
Using pastry bags to frost cakes
Cleaning & general upkeep of baking and frosting areas
Receiving & shelving truck shipments
Using the FIFO method to rotate ingredients
Following food service health and safety standards
